Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and ours was a perfect day. We slept in late and started cooking around 10:30. The weather was beautiful so the kids played football and soccer in the back yard while we cooked. We had the windows open most of the day and our guests started arriving at 1pm. Grandma & Uncle Billy joined us as well as our great friends Roni & Julie. Unfortunately, our other guests (other lyme patients from the clinic) were having really bad days and only two of them were able to join us for dessert. But, we were so glad that Kelly & Shelby could spend a little bit of time with us.

Scott had a really good day with several bursts of energy and we were very thankful for that. He cooked a delicious turkey and the BEST pumpkin soup he has ever made. He had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the boys outside and he rested in between events. He got time off from IV's (Wed. eve-Sun. eve.) so our Thanksgiving felt almost normal. I am grateful that Thursday turned out to be one of his good days. Thank you for your prayers.

Scott & I both enjoy cooking, baking and creating in the kitchen so our Thanksgiving family tradition includes having the kids help make one of the Holiday dishes. Noah always helps me make the cranberry sauce and Eli always makes the garlic mashed potatoes. Eli is obsessed with them and so it was only fitting for him to make them. We have done this for the last 4 years and last week I bought him his own masher. Lucas and I have matching aprons (a gift from Grandma 3 yrs ago) and he is always helping me in the kitchen. Last week he walked into the kitchen and said, "Apron, Me". His special job this year was our spectacular punch with raspberry sherbet. Yum. The kids also helped me make fruit dip and roasted pecans for some of our appetizers. We really enjoyed our relaxed day in our new house. It really feels like home.
