Is This Considered Stalking?

Awwww, the joys of bonushood...you start a family blog, the kids start a blog, you connect to each other and Voila...the whole other side of the family likes to track everything you do. Now granted, they can only follow everything we do if I tell them everything we do but then again, I started the blog for our family and friends...So, after two years of "stalking" I have noticed an increase in daily and weekly views. I have 2 great little trackers and their info. has made me a little concerned...have they crossed a line with their online stalking or is it just a friendly visit to see what their grandkids are up to? And if so, why check my mom's page? Why not leave a comment for the grandkids? Why refuse to look at me when I see them in public? So....is it really friendly? You decide...

It does appear a little stalkerish. At first, I was thinking "Did I click on her blog THAT many times?" lol

The thing about your blog is - unlike many bloggers, you usually write about the positive things in your life. I don't think anyone can say negative things about you, even if they do stalk you. But I do understand it feels a little creepy.

If it gets too much for you, I recommend Wordpress for more private matters. You can password protect individual posts.

Wow. I'm not really sure what to make of that. It seems weird that she would come back several times in one day and why go back thru every single month in 2010? Are they friendly towards you and Scott? Do you think it's just to see what the kids are doing?

I think I would be a little creeped out by it but like Sharon said, you write about the positive stuff in your life and all the fun activities you do together so your safe there. Maybe they want to reach out to you and Scott but are unsure of your reaction. Maybe they feel it is their right to know what their grandkids do when they are with you or maybe they enjoy your writing. Whatever the reason is, it's too bad they don't leave positive comments with all that time spent on the blog.

I usually only get around 20 visits a day... every so often I get massive hits. Like today. I almost wonder if the SD's or their mother are catching up... although nothing is in order or anything. It's like random posts are being hit & then not only once but 2 or 3times... I don't know what o think about it...

I don't have anything to hide though, like you, so it's no biggy. But it does make a person wonder...

Thanks for your thoughts ladies. I have been "watching" them watch us for quite awhile now and its always weird to me when i then see them in person and they completely ignore us. They check it from home and when one of them is on business trips too. One of them even checks the page that I set up about my mom and her heart surgery/health updates.

The things I know of them have been told to me by my DH or have been things that have happened since we have been married. There has always been an effort on their part to belittle and undermine my DH to the kids. They have told our kids that Daddy's house will never be your house, you will never live there and you can't love Dawnua because the Bible says to Honor your mother and father (among other things)...how they can twist that verse around to only mean love and honor your mother but ridicule the father makes no sense to me...

Granted, it has been almost 2 yrs since those particular things were said but that "feeling" is still there. We are constantly told that they have changed but we have seen no fruit from that tree. If their hearts had changed we would see love, mercy, kindness and grace, right? And I'm pretty sure that would include showing kindness in person instead of glaring...

So, I guess I just wonder why the fascination with our family when they want nothing to do with us in the "real" world.
