So every once in a while we have a little visitor...his name is Kevin...and he is a small bat...and he only stays a few minutes, flies around, eats some bugs and leaves...but 1.5 weeks ago he had a little accident...and hit our kitchen/bathroom wall and knocked himself out...
Lucas came running into the living room to scream tell me that we had a dead bat, a dead bat, a dead bat! I ran in there to find poor Kevin, laying on a shelf...and slowly breathing...and when Kevin didn't move for a while, Scott decided to take the bat outside...so he put on a glove, picked up the bat and found him self being screeched at by said bat, being bit by said bat and letting go as said bat flew away...and wouldn't you know we haven't seen Kevin since? *Don't worry - no Scott's were hurt in the making of this memory.

During our last long week of the summer we were invited to go to another Royals game with our downstairs neighbors. The girls had won some free tickets and we gladly tagged along. It was a beautiful day and the Royals even won! And even better, they got a home run so we got a free slushy at Sonic after the game...can't beat a free day like that!
We also had the opportunity to go to a local water park. It isn't finished yet but we still enjoyed the rides they had open. Instead of standing in line for the next ride you get to float in water! We happened to be there on one of the hottest days of the summer and the water felt soo good! Our favorite part was the torrent river...its a huge lazy like river but with huge waves and a whirlpool that sucks you in and throws you out. We went thru that think about 10 times and it was our favorite part of the park. I am so thankful we survived and thrived this summer when finances were so tough. God always provides for my family and I know that HE is in control. What a great summer we had with lots of extra time for bonding. Can't beat that!
